It depends on the tool, so check before you upload. Casen is built for client documents: they are stored and processed in Sydney, encrypted at rest and in transit, and every upload is scanned for malware in Sydney before anyone can open it. The AI runs with zero data retention. For questions to put to any AI vendor, read our guide to uploading client documents to an AI tool or the Trust page.

All client documents and AI processing stay in the Sydney region (australia-southeast1). Documents are encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. The AI runs with zero data retention and never trains on client documents. Casen has CSA STAR Level 1 and CSA STAR for AI Level 1, and is an ASD Cyber Security Business Partner.

Client data doesn't leave Australia unless you switch on a connector yourself. Casen stores and processes client data in Australia. If you choose to use the Claude connector, the information you request through it is sent to Claude, and the same applies to any tool you connect through the API. Some practice-level data does leave Australia, such as account emails and CRM records, and the Trust page lists every provider that handles it.
It depends on the file. Documents uploaded for a one-off analysis are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and the analysis results stay in your account. Documents attached to a client or a lead are kept in your practice's own private storage until you delete them.
Yes. Deleting a client removes their record, files and document analyses from Casen. Recovery copies are kept for up to 14 days in case of a system failure, then they are gone. The intake conversation they came in through stays in your leads, unlinked from the deleted client.
Yes. Casen's DPA lets you audit how Casen processes your data, or appoint an independent auditor to do it, with 30 days' written notice.
Yes. You stay responsible for your clients' confidentiality when you use any AI tool, and Casen's review is indicative, so you check the findings. Read OMARA's guidance on AI.
